 CLIENT OBJECTIVE
Retrofit and modernize Plant No. 3 to address new market and to effect product changeover.
SCOPE OF PROJECT
Phase II of a three-phase project: Demolish all existing equipment and structures, except for cupola melt center, and replace with all new equipment and systems.
MOUAT RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, provide, and install new sand system, automatic hot metal delivery system, casting processing and handling system, electrical controls for foundry process equipment and environmental system..
Provide and install two new vertically parted molding systems, two automatic pressure pour furnaces, two holding furnaces, and six core machines.
Provide overall project management and general engineering support.
MAJOR EQUIPMENT LISTING
Molding:
One Disamatic 2013 Mk4-B molding machine; one Disamatic 2070-B molding machine.
Sand Processing:
Mouat system, including two B&P 100-B mixers; General Kinematics fluid bed sand cooler and vibratory equipment; Hartley moisture controls; Mouat belt conveyors, bucket elevators, bins, and miscellaneous auxiliary equipment.
Hot Metal Processing:
Two Junker 10-ton automatic pouring furnaces; two Whiting 50-ton holders; hot metal delivery with automatic dispatch.
Casting Processing:
One BMD continuous shot blast machine; General Kinematics vibratory equipment.
Core Making:
Two B&P horizontal cold box core machines; six Disamatic (Peterle) vertical cold box and shell core machines. |
