CLIENT OBJECTIVE
Modernize engine block foundry to reduce labor and increase efficiency.
SCOPE OF PROJECT
Demolish two existing sand slinger molding lines and sand systems, and replace with all new systems.
Add sand cooling, pressure pour furnace, casting handling and cooling.
MOUAT RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, provide, and install new sand system, hot metal delivery system, electrical controls for foundry process equipment, environmental system, and major building addition.
Install new air impact molding system and two automatic pressure pour furnaces.
Design and install all pits and foundations.
Provide overall project management and general engineering support.
MAJOR EQUIPMENT LISTING
Molding: One Georg Fischer impact molding machine, 39 x 57 x 14/14, 200 molds per hour; S.I. Systems handling core assembly loops.
Sand Processing: Mouat system, including two Eirich DWV 29/6 continuous mixers; one Eirich DWV 29/6 homogenizer; AISCO sand cooling drum; General Kinematics vibratory equipment; Mouat belt conveyors, bucket elevators, bins, and miscellaneous auxiliary equipment.
Hot Metal Processing: Two Junker 10-ton automatic pouring furnaces with double stopper rods on each furnace; hot metal delivery.
Building: Mouat civil design, and building design and installation. |
